BLACK MOUNTAIN — The Hungry Vegan has launched a
nationwide vegan and organic meal delivery service.

The service offers a new menu each week that includes
12 different items ranging from comfort foods, such as
winter chili, to gourmet selections, such as roulades.

The food is shipped overnight or in two days. The
shipments provide for about five to seven days of
lunches and dinners.

Leftovers can be frozen. The meals are ready to eat;
customers just need to heat the items.

VERY DISAPPOINTING/FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE!

I just received my first (and last!) order from The Hungry Vegan this week. It took 4 days to arrive and it was a wet, sloppy mess! It was shipped Fed Ex Home Delivery which has no guarantee as to how long it takes to arrive. The web site states I would receive my order in 1 -2 days. The owner, Amy Townsend, has refunded my money, but refuses to admit fault in the shipping offered for her service and also has an attitude, commenting to me about her wasted time, energy, and money.

The food was in vacuum sealed bags that had excess plastic past the sealed area where there was bits of whatever food was poured in before being sealed and the desserts came unwrapped in paper type boxes and they were completely smashed and wet. By the time I received the food...it was
at least 4 days old...probably 5 since I am sure it was not all prepared the same day it shipped.

oooh, that sounds terrible.
I guess that they had better work out the issues in their business. They won't last long if they continue to send nasty food that takes way too long to arrive. :(

Organic fruits and vegetables are more flavorful, organic meats are
fresher, and packaged organic foods taste better than their non-organic counterparts. That's why i only buy organic food delivered to our house from a trusted producer.
